The Flight West

Kev & I had pretty much packed everything up the night before. We stayed up late that night so we could go ahead & get on Vegas time. Stayed up til about 3am so that would be 12am PST. We slept in the next day.
Our flight was originally scheduled to leave from Charleston at 4:53pm. But it got delayed 3 times. It took us forever to get out of Charleston. I didn't think we were ever going to get out of there. Apparently there was a storm system over Atlanta that was the cause of the delay.
We were supposed to take 3 flights to get to Vegas. 1st from Charleston to Atlanta, 2nd from Atlanta to Tucson, and 3rd from Tucson to Vegas. Needless to say when the flight leaving Charleston got delayed the 1st time, we would pretty much end up missing the other flights. But we spoke with the Delta rep and she (being ever so kind) changed our flight plan so we could catch a direct flight from Atlanta to Vegas. How nice was that? However if the Charleston flight had got delayed one more time, we would have missed that flight & got stuck in Atlanta for the night.
Once we were finally in the air it was pretty smooth sailing. The Atlanta airport was huge. Had a nice subway system that we took to the terminal where the flight to Vegas would be departing.
The flight to Vegas. Now that was a memorable flight. The plane itself was enormous. It had 2 aisles & a center section for seats. Naturally we were stuck in the center, which I hated. I like to be able to look out the window or at least have a decent view of the window. We did get to watch the movie "Fracture". I fell asleep halfway through it though. Have to rent it now that I'm home so I can see the ending. LoL. That flight was like 4 hours long. It seemed to take forever.
Time we landed in Vegas it was 12:30am PST. That would make it 3:30am EST. I was soooo tired. It seemed to take forever for our bags to come through the baggage claim. We took a shuttle bus to the resort. It must have been the Vegas air, but once I was outside the airport I felt completely rejuvenated. That or the excitedment of finally being in Vegas!!
Check-in was a breeze. The desk clerk was quite helpful. We got up to our room & found that it wasn't one of the newly renovated rooms. But at the price we were paying we really wasn't expecting it to be. (We found a deal & got our rooms 1/2 off). One things for sure: we had an AWESOME view. We were on the 11th floor. Our 2 windows looked out over the pool area, past there we had a great view of the balloon @ Paris & the Bellagio fountains.
We ended staying up til almost 4am Vegas time, but we did end up getting everything unpacked. We mutually agreed to sleep as late as humanly possible the next day.
